QSP Capital LLC Announces Acquisition of Alpha Plus Educational Systems

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA - QSP Alpha Plus LLC, an affiliate of QSP Capital LLC, announced that it has completed its acquisition of all business and assets of Alpha Plus Educational Systems (“Alpha Plus”) from Alpha Plus Systems, Inc. and its founder, Jan Barrick, who is retiring from the business. The new owners are all Oklahoma residents and the ownership group includes former Oklahoma educators with years of experience in Oklahoma public schools.
Alpha Plus delivers a program of data-driven student and school academic improvement through professional development training for teachers, coupled with textbooks and online student assessments which has produced measurable improvements in student and school test scores as well as proficiency rates for hundreds of public schools over the last two decades.
Bill Liedtke, President of Alpha Plus, stated: “We are excited to build on the Alpha Plus system, with its proven track record and strong academic team, to help Oklahoma schools and students improve their academic performance in the critical foundational skills of math and reading. We have already begun enlisting additional Oklahoma educators with classroom experience to our team and we are making substantial investment in upgrading our curriculum as we start a new chapter for Alpha Plus.”
ABOUT ALPHA PLUS: Alpha Plus has brought its data-driven teacher training to help schools and students across Oklahoma improve performance in both math and English Language Arts. Today, the team is serving 180 schools in 119 districts with 1,900 teachers and administrators using Alpha Plus Online to evaluate the performance of 25,000 students statewide. Alpha Plus client schools on average have consistently outperformed state averages of math and reading proficiency rates. Success with OAS textbooks and assessments in Math for grades K through 8 and in English Language Arts for grades 2 through 8, are all written “by Oklahoma teachers for Oklahoma teachers” and adhere to the Oklahoma Academic Standards, which are considered among the most rigorous standards in the nation.
The sophisticated Alpha Plus online platform provides ongoing formative and summative assessments to give teachers and school administrators the data they need to track both student and classroom performance. Facilitators from Alpha Plus travel to client schools across the state to provide in-person professional development to help teachers and schools use the data from the Alpha Plus Online to make the adjustments needed to improve instruction and student success.
