Key upgrades and improvements in Alpha Plus Educational Systems for the 2025-2026 school year include:

  • Integration of Alpha Plus Online with Clever SecureSync, ClassLink and OneRoster; Certification of FERPA and cybersecurity compliance – OneRoster and ClassLink are now incorporated into Alpha Plus Online for all schools.  Schools wishing to use Clever SecureSync can add it as an option for the $228 fee charged by Clever. These powerful data management automation tools will greatly simplify onboarding and maintaining your students into our system.  Using SecureSync or ClassLink will make student licenses on our platform transferable within a school district, seamlessly following students who change schools. Alpha Plus will also provide documentation through CoSN K12 regarding its cybersecurity and FERPA compliance.
  • Curriculum rewrite, enrichment and upgrade for all textbooks and teacher guides, with particular emphasis on making teacher guides accessible to new and emergency certified teachers – We have completed a second rewriting of virtually all our textbooks and teacher guides in part to not only strengthen but also enlarge and enrich our teacher guides to make them more accessible to newer and emergency certified teachers.  We believe both our new Math and ELA curriculum to be a substantial improvement over our previous offerings, fresher and more engaging for today’s students, with an increased emphasis on writing in ELA.
  • NEW 1st Grade ELA – We have added a comprehensive multi-volume OAS aligned workbook series paced on a daily basis blending reading and phonics practice to build strong foundational literacy and phonemic awareness skills in this critical year.  Like the multi-volume 2nd grade ELA set we added last year, 1st grade ELA includes three robust Teacher Guides, one of which is Phonological Awareness.  1st grade assessments are already available on Alpha Plus Online.  We intend to add a similar Kindergarten curriculum next year.
  • NEW Phonics Plus – a remedial phonics textbook with teacher guide for students in grades 3 – 5 – We have added a unique OAS aligned student phonics textbook with a teacher guide targeted for those students in grades 3 – 5 needing remediation or additional support.  Phonics Plus is a standalone product that a district can purchase for students needing this extra support.
  • Addition of online formative and summative Science assessments for grades 6-7 – We are completing our new bank of formative and summative Science assessments for grades 6 and 7 to add to our existing formative and summative Science assessments for 5th and 8th grades.
  • Math Achievement and Proficiency – To address the requirements of the proposed Math Achievement and Proficiency Act currently in the Legislature, we are pleased to add Anthony Purcell, formerly Program Manager – Mathematics at OSDE, to lead development of a remedial Math curriculum, professional development in the effective teaching of Math, and Math proficiency testing as will be required by the Act.  Anthony has helped edit our revised Math curriculum, but will now be joining us full time.
  • Addition of a 2nd bank of formative assessments questions for Math and ELA – We have added a second set of formative assessment questions to the Alpha Plus Online Platform for all grades in Math, and for Grades 3-8 in ELA, curated to ensure appropriate testing of the different depths of knowledge.
  • New Teacher/Emergency Certified Training focused on classroom management, how to teach a lesson, and how to use data – We have scheduled a series of interactive training workshops focused on classroom management and other topics suggested by superintendents for new and emergency certified teachers.  The workshops will be held in each of the four quadrants of the state and limited to a small group to promote interactivity.  Our 2025 workshops, conducted by our Vice President of Academic Achievement, Dr. Cindy Watson, former OSDE TLE Program Manager, were highly successful.  We also offer these workshops for individual districts.
  • Enhanced on-site professional development for and with teachers on using the Alpha Plus curriculum and data driven online platform to optimize student outcomes – In addition to our on-site professional development sessions and online resources focused on helping teachers use the Alpha Plus curriculum and data driven Online Platform to optimize student outcomes, we now offer professional development training on how to use our multivolume ELA 1 & 2 reading, phonics and phonological awareness offerings to achieve best results in those important early years.  Our experts can also provide “deep data dives” to administrators wishing to analyze performance and opportunities for growth from both Alpha Plus and OSDE scores and data.
  • Uniform package pricing for textbooks purchased with assessments lower than previous renewal pricing available to both new and renewing schools We now offer package pricing for our textbooks purchased with assessments for both new and renewing schools a little below the former renewal price for the combination of books and assessments.
  • OSDE approval of the use of state textbook funds to purchase Alpha Plus as supplemental curriculum – In 2024, the State Board of Education approved by consent docket a waiver request to use textbook funds to purchase Alpha Plus as a supplementary curriculum. The request cited the Alpha Plus curriculum as helping the district reach a high level of mastery in Reading, ELA and Math standards, and show tremendous growth.
