Alpha Plus Learning, our new learning management system (LMS), has launched for all schools using our curriculum in 2020-21. We transitioned our Success with OAS mathematics and reading books to a digital platform built with Moodle software to deliver Alpha Plus content. We hope you will like how the LMS supports the curriculum in the classroom and at a distance.
We have input your data into the system, and instructions for logging in to https://alphapluslearning.com/ for the first time are typed below and linked here.
NOTE: Within each course are detailed instructions for using Alpha Plus Learning, a downloadable Teacher’s Guide for each OAS Objective, and direct links to each set listed in numerical order of the state’s OAS codes - not according to our suggested Pacing Calendar or table of contents. This is for ease of navigation to assigning lessons following your curriculum maps for OAS.
BONUS: We are allowing schools to download the fillable PDFs from https://alphaplusresources/ (requires district-level credentials) and use them in other LMS platforms if preferred; but our support team is unable to provide assistance with any other system.
We can best help you navigate Alpha Plus Learning if you reach out when you encounter any issues.
As soon as you get a chance to try it out, please provide feedback so we may better assist you as well as other school teams and students statewide as we move forward together. ALPHA PLUS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM NOW OPEN!
Quick Start Guide 2020-21
Thank you for joining us in the pilot school year of Alpha Plus Learning, a new learning management system (LMS) for the only curriculum aligned solely to the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS).
To start using Alpha Plus Learning, login at undefined with username of last / first name (lowercase, all one word; e.g., <doejohn>) and use the temporary password <AlphaTeach2020!>. You will be prompted to change your password upon log in; and, since children under 13 will access the site and you can communicate with them (assign and grade lessons) through it, you will need to agree to terms regarding privacy of student data.
-
- Once logged in, detailed instructions and a full manual are inside. The basic process is to assign lessons from our Success with OAS mathematics and reading/ELA books (Guided Practice, Independent Practice, and Continuous Review) as you teach an objective.
-
- These lessons are in fillable PDFs that require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader or Lumin PDF (Chromebooks) software on the student’s device to work properly; the lessons are not fillable if opened by a web browser.

-
- Students will need to download each lesson PDF, complete it, save it, and return it to the Alpha Plus Learning site for teachers to grade. We know educators do this with Google Classroom and other such LMS platforms but we do not know if early-grade students and their parents will be able to do so easily. The process must be taught to the students by their teacher who will also provide students with their login information.
- Student usernames are in same format (last name / first name, all one word and lower case, e.g. <doejanie>) with temporary password <AlphaLearn2020!> to login. The system does not allow two last names with a space between them or the use of apostrophes.
- For example, Shaquille O'Neal would have username <onealshaquille> while Oscar De La Hoya might have username <dela-hoyaoscar>.
- These usernames are used so teachers do not have to keep up with student email addresses, but students with long names may have a difficult time at first.
- Check the “Participants” list for that course to verify spelling of usernames.
- Students will need to change their password, write it down for later use, and agree to privacy terms in order to proceed.
