Alpha Plus is excited to announce upgrades and improvements for the 2026-2027 school year!

  • New 5th Grade Science Textbook! We are excited to introduce our new OAS-aligned 5th Grade Science textbook, accompanied by a comprehensive teacher guide, directly aligned with our existing fifth grade Science online formative and summative assessments We will add 8th Grade Science for the 2027–2028 school year, with 6th and 7th Grade Science curricula to follow in subsequent years.
  • New Kindergarten ELA! We are launching the first phase of a multi-volume, OAS-aligned Kindergarten workbook series. This initial release focuses on phonics, phonological awareness, and foundational literacy skills. Next year, the Kindergarten ELA curriculum will expand to fully address reading and writing standards.
  • New Kindergarten Math Formatives! We will now offer Kindergarten Math formative assessments designed to be developmentally appropriate, to ensure tasks, language, and expectations align with the instructional and learning needs of young students.  They will be a combination of both oral performance-based assessments and digital multiple-choice assessments for best use in your classroom.
  • New Remedial/Extension Math! To support schools in meeting the requirements of the new Math Achievement and Proficiency Act, we are introducing grade-specific Math remediation/extension curricula starting with Math Advantage 5th Grade, which will include a student workbook, small-group instructional materials designed to build foundational math understanding, and a comprehensive teacher guide.  This curriculum will feature remedial/reteaching activities as well as extension activities. Additional remedial/enhancement curriculum for other grades will follow.
  • Math 8 has become Pre-Algebra! Our Math 8 curriculum has been substantially reworked and beginning in 2026–2027 will be offered as Pre-Algebra to more closely align with OAS Math standards.
  • Enhanced ELA 2!  Based on valuable feedback from our partner schools, 2nd Grade ELA has been revised and enhanced, and now, as with our 1st Grade ELA books, will fully blend phonics and reading instruction rather than present them separately. ELA 2 will continue to include a two-volume student textbook set and a three-volume teacher guide set one of which is a dedicated volume on phonological awareness.
  • Alpha Plus Online (APO) 2026 Updates. We continue to upgrade and enhance our online platform to better support students, teachers, and administrators. Key updates in APO 2026 include:
    • A platform-wide font upgrade to KG Primary Penmanship 2, a clean, easy-to-read sans-serif font, designed to be more readable and supportive for students with dyslexia and beneficial for all learners, while remaining developmentally appropriate for younger readers.
    • An online Texas Instruments calculator, in addition to the existing Desmos calculator, for grades 6 and above.  Although the Desmos is the only online calculator permitted for the state test, students can use a physical TI calculator on the state test.  The Alpha Plus online TI calculator is intended to help students become proficient on the TI calculator.
    • Interactive lessons, including guided, independent and continuous practice assignments which can be sent by teachers to the student portal.  Multiple choice questions will be automatically graded, and teachers will be able to review answers to open ended questions and mark them as correct or incorrect.
    • Printable pacing calendars, giving teachers the flexibility to generate and print personalized pacing plans based on the assignments and instructional goals they set within the platform.
    • Redesigned assessments for K-2 to a more developmentally appropriate format for younger students which initially reduce answer choices to build students up to working with four choices.
  • OSDE Approval for Use of Textbook Funds During the 2025–2026 school year, the State Board of Education continues to approve multiple waiver requests allowing districts to use a portion of their state textbook funds to purchase Alpha Plus as a supplemental curriculum.  Districts cited Alpha Plus as supporting high levels of mastery in Reading, ELA, and Math standards, as well as demonstrating strong student growth.
