Schools Make Honor Roll Based on 2023 State Report Cards
OKLAHOMA CITY – Thirty-three schools using the Alpha Plus Model of School Improvement earned A or B grades on the Oklahoma School Report Cards for the 2022-23 school year and are now on the Alpha Plus Honor Roll. These schools are among 180 schools in 119 districts partnering with Oklahoma’s premier school improvement firm, Alpha Plus Educational Systems.
Alpha Plus Partner Schools receiving “A” grades either improved or maintained the grade over the last three school years. Some schools on the list such as Bennington, Flower Mound, Roff and Prue have used Alpha Plus tools for more than five years; others such as Broken Bow, Elmore City-Pernell and Navajo began working with Alpha Plus in the last couple of years.
All Oklahoma schools’ scores and letter grades are available on a platform hosted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education at https://www.oklaschools.com. While the calculation includes other indicators of educational performance, about three-quarters of any school’s report-card grade comes directly from state test scores.
Alpha Plus Partner Schools have outperformed state averages every year of the Oklahoma School Report Cards and the previous A-F Report Cards used for accountability under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and No Child Left Behind (NCLB). A higher percentage of schools using Alpha Plus Online assessments in 2022-23 received an A, B or C grade and fewer received Ds and Fs than the state average.
Alpha Plus provides OAS-aligned curriculum, assessments and resources used in data-driven professional development facilitated by a team of educators. The Alpha Plus staff has a total of 271 years of experience as educators and administrators in Oklahoma public schools. Founded in 1990 by an Oklahoma educator, all Alpha Plus tools are written by certified Oklahoma teachers and only to the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS).
More information, including previous Alpha Plus Honor Roll lists and a map of current Alpha Plus Partner Schools, is available at www.alphaplus.org.
